ISO 44001 and the Insti­tute for Col­lab­o­ra­tive Working

The Insti­tute for Col­lab­o­ra­tive Work­ing (ICW) is a lead­ing orga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cat­ed to pro­mot­ing and advanc­ing col­lab­o­ra­tive work­ing prac­tices in a wide range of industries.

The Insti­tute for Col­lab­o­ra­tive Work­ing (ICW) began the path to ISO 44001 in 2004 by com­bin­ing its exper­tise to cre­ate and the devel­op­ment of CRAFT, a new and com­pre­hen­sive method for estab­lish­ing and main­tain­ing more effec­tive busi­ness rela­tion­ships. Short­ly after, the ICW was pleased to col­lab­o­rate with the British Stan­dards Insti­tu­tion (BSI) on the idea of cre­at­ing a nation­al stan­dard. PAS 11000 was first pub­lished in 2006 and then changed to BS 11000, which was released in 2010. The Inter­na­tion­al Stan­dard Orga­ni­za­tion (ISO) decid­ed in 2013 to build on the British stan­dard­’s suc­cess by expand­ing it via the glob­al com­mu­ni­ty, which led to the pub­lish­ing of ISO 44001:2017.
